James Ellis, M.D. — LCMC Health
Dr. Ellis is a New Orleans native who received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering with a pre-med minor from Louisiana State University. After working for Exxon for 4 years he completed a year of pre medical studies at the University of New Orleans. He attended Medical School at LSU in New Orleans. Dr. Ellis completed an internship at Charity and Internal Medicine residency at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge. Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship training was completed at Wake Forest and LSU in New Orleans. He practices Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care for LCMC at Touro Infirmary. Professional activities include advocacy and philanthropy for cancer patients and causes.
Dr. Ellis is the father of 4 daughters who are his greatest joy. Active in fitness and health, he practices Shotokan Karate and yoga with teaching credentials in both. Leisure activities include boating, fishing, theatre, music and enjoying life in New Orleans.
