CAGLA OVERVIEW
A Grassroots Force for Cancer Care Advocacy
The Cancer Advocacy Group of Louisiana, Inc. (CAGLA) is a vibrant grassroots force championing improved cancer care. United by a shared purpose, our dynamic assembly of community leaders, dedicated physicians, and resilient survivors is more than just a non-profit. We are a catalyst for systemic change, using our influence to drive progress in healthcare policy and practice.
We bridge gaps within the healthcare community, connecting innovative minds and compassionate hearts, empowering patients, and fostering a collaborative environment for shared victories. As advocates, we echo the voices that demand to be heard and work towards a future free from this disease. With every piece of legislation we influence, we move a step closer to our goal.
Our Mission
Championing Legislative Action for Cancer Care in Louisiana & Beyond
Our mission is to advocate for legislation and administration regulations in the State of Louisiana that promote, support, and facilitate cancer research and education, as well as the well-being and care of cancer patients, survivors, and their families. We assert that exceptional cancer care is a universal right for all patients.
Through our political action committee, CAGLA CARES, we actively shape state legislation and regulatory solutions to significantly alleviate the cancer burden. We listen actively to patients and stay abreast of medical breakthroughs, and by empowering advocates across the state, we are fast-tracking Louisiana’s journey towards a cancer-free life.
Our Vision
Leading the Way Towards a Cancer-Free Future
We envision a world where everyone, irrespective of their socio-economic status, has equal access to the highest standard of cancer care. Our goal is to lead Louisiana, and ultimately the world, towards a future free from cancer. We aim to foster a transformative healthcare environment that encourages innovation, promotes advanced cancer therapies, and eliminates the suffering caused by cancer.
We envision creating a dynamic platform for collaboration among experts, advocates, patients, and policymakers, establishing the preeminent cancer conference in the Gulf South and setting the standard for patient advocacy on a national and international scale.
