Troy Bourgeois, M.D.
Troy Bourgeois is from New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from De La Salle High School and later attended Christian Brother’s University in Memphis, TN where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences. He went on to receive his Master’s of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University. He attended Northwestern University in Chicago, IL for pedorthic certificate coursework. His internship for Motion Analysis was completed at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He returned to New Orleans to begin practice in 2001. He founded the Movement Science Center in 2004 as a facility for advanced evaluation and treatment of neuromuscularskeletal disorders.
Troy has treated many professional athletes including athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC, ATP, AVP, MLS, NWSL, as well as members from our U.S. Olympic Team. Troy has been adjunct faculty for LSU medical school and physical therapy school for the departments of neurology and orthopedics. His certifications include dry needling level I, II, and III, SFMA, CrossFit Level I, and holds multiple manual therapy certificates. He has been a course instructor and presenter for the American Physical Therapy Association, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Louisiana Medical Association. His publications have been included in Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine as well as Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. Troy is a loving husband and a father of 3 beautiful girls. He enjoys serving the community that he has grown up in. His goal was to develop a center where the world’s latest advancements in evaluating and treating human movement disorders could be provided where his family and friends reside. As a New Orleans native, his drive and passion has been flavored by the diverse culture here. In an effort to give back to New Orleans, Troy has dedicated this facility to improving the quality of life of this community.
