Elizabeth Lapeyre, M.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Lapeyre is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, Dr. Lapeyre obtained her medical degree at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ochsner Health in 2003. She completed the Duke Leadership Program in Health and Well-Being. She also completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine and is board certified. After practicing OB and GYN for 19 years she transitioned to a GYN and Integrative Oncology practice. She is the Medical Director for the Women’s Wellness and Survivorship Center at Ochsner Baptist. She serves as the system director for Cancer Survivorship and Integrative Oncology at the Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Lapeyre is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, She has been on numerous committees including Obstetrics Practice Bulletins, Nominations, Scientific Program, Continuing Medical Education, and CREOG (Council on Resident Education in OB/GYN). She is a Diplomate of the American Board of OB/GYN and serves as an oral board examiner. She is also a member of the Society for Integrative Oncology and the Integrative Oncology Working Group. In her role at the cancer center she sees both male and female patients and works with a team which includes nurse navigators, acupuncturists, nutritionists, psychologists, physician assistants, yoga therapists, physical therapists, and meditation instructors.

Integrative Oncology embodies the use of conventional cancer treatment and complementary/integrative therapies together in a coordinated and evidence-based way to facilitate the healing process. The goal is to help patients through their cancer treatment, minimize side effects and to maintain quality of life.
