Dr. Richard Mansour — LSU Health Shreveport/Feist-Weiller Cancer Center

Dr. Richard P. Mansour, MD is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport in the Department of Medicine’s Hematology[1]Oncology section at the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. In 2017, Dr. Mansour joined the LSU Health Shreveport as a full-time faculty member. In 2023, he was appointed Interim Director of the Cancer Center. A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Dr. Mansour has lived and practiced in Shreveport for over 22 years. He is married to Merrial and is a proud father and grandfather. Dr. Mansour earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and went on to serve as an Army physician, completing a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Letterman Army Medical Center. He later became Chief of the Hematology-Oncology section at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, Dr. Mansour has over four decades of clinical and academic experience. His medical interests include benign and malignant hematology, sickle cell disease management, chronic pain in sickle cell patients, and gynecologic oncology. A pioneer in medical informatics, Dr. Mansour played a key role in designing software for chemotherapy order entry and protocol management. As Interim Director, he is focused on improving patient outcomes, advancing research, strengthening education, and building strategic partnerships. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology
